This book contains easy-to-understand case summaries of the key cases relevant to rights of light in England and Wales. It is aimed primarily at rights of light surveyors and surveyors generally, but may also be of interest to legal professionals operating in this area of law.
The book contains 36 case summaries, appearing chronologically so that the reader gains an impression as to how the law in this area has developed. Each case summary contains a short overall summary, a summary of the facts and of the court's decision, followed by the author's commentary on the significance of that particular case.
Extracts from statutes relevant to rights of light law appear towards the end of the book, including the Prescription Act 1832 and the Rights of Light Act 1959.
