This book contains the proceedings of the conference ‘Law and Disputing in the Middle Ages’ held on 9-11 May 2012 at the Carlsberg Academy in Copenhagen. It includes articles from an international group of scholars of various aspects of disputing, not only from legal but also sociological and historical perspective in the Middle Ages.
The geographical focus is on Europe and the collection of articles cover a multitude of aspects regarding law and disputing like the concept of disputing itself, the formal and practical sides of dispute settlements as well as various disputing strategies.
