The Security Interests (Jersey) Law 2012 (the "Law") is a significant reform of Jersey's security law. The Law comes into full force on 2 January 2014. From this date, all new security over intangible property will need to comply with the Law.
The Law is influenced by the Personal Property Security Acts of Canada and New Zealand. The book will comment in detail on the provisions of the Law. The book will consider the nature of security interests and will contain chapters considering the key concepts of the attachment and perfection of security interests, the priority of security interests, the enforcement of security interests and the registration of security interests.
