The Cayman Islands are a relatively small territory covering only 100 square miles but the Islands' legal system serves, in addition to a resident population of approximately 24,000 people, some 17,000 locally registered companies and more than 500 banks and trust companies, licensed to operate in the Islands.
This book examines the developments which have occurred in the law and government of the Cayman Islands over the past 300 years, showing how a comprehensive legal system has developed to meet the needs of modern society.
