Barry Rose has had a full and eventful life. this book, consisting as it does of snippets of conversation he has had with all and sundry, is without 'form' its arrangement is not in datal or any other particular order, and is a book to be dipped into when there is an idle moment.

And Barry Rose himself has had very few idle moments: the backcloth to the photograph above consists of some of the 160 annual volumes of the world's oldest weekly law journal, which for some 60 of those years he either edited or owned. He is now a law book publisher.

He has served as an elected member of the old Chichester R.D.C., Bognor I Regis U.D.C., Pagham Parish Council and the West Sussex County Council for a cumulative period of 34 years: now of course, local government reforms have swept this away. He also served the Conservative Party in a variety of posts, including Chichester Constituency for 8 years as well as a host of other offices in the Party.

This book, whilst remaining a 'bedside' book, details some of its problems inherited from the past, and brings a new dimension to them. This is a book which will amuse or infuriate you.
