The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association joined with Wilton Park,an independent think-tank of the United Kingdom Government, in 1998, to host a week of discussions between an eminent group of Commonwealth parliamentarians and a largely European collection of senior politicians, civil servants, academics, journalists and others interested in government. The result of this intriguing cross-pollination of Commonwealth and European philosophies and practices is this rare insight into the future directions which government is likely to follow.
