This book is aimed at nurses,for whom medical law is a necessary and relevant part of their initial training or continuing education. It is divided into four main sections.;The first section deals with common law issues such as medical negligence and consent, section two addresses statutory issues such as the Mental Health Act and access to health records.;The third section looks at the medical context, including hospital complaints procedures, and in part four, the ethical issues of withdrawing treatment, living wills and confidentiality are discussed. Each section includes case studies and suggested solutions.
