Council Regulation (EC) No 6/2002 on Community designs (CDR) protects the appearance of a design against counterfeiting and piracy, be it registered or unregistered. The right is applicable throughout the European Union. The registered design is obtained in a single procedure from the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market in Alicante.
