RICS Guidance Note: Rating Appeals

Rating appeals is written for any surveyor who is involved in a proposal to alter the rating assessment of a client’s property. It takes the surveyor through every stage of an appeal, including:

• How and when to make a proposal;
• The grounds for making a proposal;
• What to do if there is no agreement - going to a Valuation Tribunal;
• Valuation Tribunal procedures;
• Pre-hearing preparations; and
• The stages involved in the hearing.
