It provides styles of writs, defences, motions and other written pleadings most commonly encountered in the Sheriff Court. The 39 sheriff courts in Scotland deal with cases worth up to £100k. These can be cases of debt, family disputes, anti-social behaviour, child welfare, theft, bankruptcy. The sheriff court does not deal with any cases of murder, rape or treason.
