A companion volume for, and continuation of, King’s Inns Admission Papers 1607-1867 (Dublin, 1982) offering, in the manner of the earlier book, an alphabetical listing of some 2,700 persons called to the Bar in Dublin between 1868 and 1968, together with a summary of the information contained in the Memorials they submitted to the Benchers at the time of their Call, and biographical notes compiled from the Irish Law Times and other sources.
The work also offers a complete and up-to-date chronological Roll of the Outer Bar, listing the names of over 6,000 barristers called between 1868 and Michaelmas Term 2004, together with a similar Roll of the Inner Bar, and a catalogue of judges.
W.N. Osborough and Kenneth Ferguson have contributed valuable introductory essays, entitled respectively ‘Landmarks in the history of King’s Inns: 1872, 1885, 1921, 1925’, and ‘A Portrait of the Irish Bar, 1868-1968’.
