In May 1993, over 90% of eligible Cambodians voted in free and fair elections, signifying a success for one of the UN's largest, most ambitious, and most costly peace-keeping operations, the United Nations Transitional Administration in Cambodia (UNTAC). This book examines the UNTAC experience in its entirety, arguing that the lessons learned in Cambodia can make future UN peace-keeping and peace-building efforts more effective.
