Foreword by Lord Collins of Mapesbury
Introduction by John Hopkins
Clive Parry was a fine legal scholar and a prolific writer; these qualities are clearly evidenced in the present collection. It includes his first published work, on the Pacific Blockade, hitherto unpublished papers on the jurisprudence of international law and on the environment, substantial works on state responsibility, on the sources and evidence of international law, on nationality and much more.
It also includes introductory papers on his great British Digest of International Law and on the 235 volumes of the Consolidated Treaty Series. There are also papers on legal education in the two Cambridges.
His tragically early death at 65 was an incalculable loss to legal science. The present collection clearly indicates this.
