This short guide to Lincoln’s Inn has been written for the simple purpose of enabling visitors to add to the enjoyment of their visit. It is not intended to be an historical research, but it is hoped that sufficient has been written to give some impression as to what an Inn of Court is and what it stands for.
If, in some measure, it succeeds in conveying the atmosphere of dignity and tranquility to be found in Lincoln’s Inn so ardently cherished by those who live and work therein, the task has been successfully acconiplished. It is in this spirit that this guide is commended.
