About the Author:
John Eaton enjoyed a 25-year career as a law librarian and professor at the universities of Manitoba
and Western Ontario. He was president of the Canadian Association of Law Libraries/l’association
Canadienne des bibliothèques de droit from 2001 to 2003 and was the recipient of the association’s
Denis Marshall Memorial Award for Excellence in Law Librarianship in 2006. In 2012, he was awarded
the Association of College Research Libraries Marta Lange/Sage-CQ Press Award for distinguished
contributions to bibliography and information service in law. Since retirement from academic law
librarianship in 2016, he has been the North American representative of the English legal bookseller Wildy
& Sons Ltd. He resides in Ottawa, Canada.
