The new Civil Procedure Rules embodying the recommendations of the Woolf Report came into effect in 1999. Under the rules, the High Court and county courts are for the first time governed by the same set of Rules and Orders. This handbook covers all the procedures used in the civil courts from commencement of action through to judgment. It contains precedents, checklists and examples of the new forms. The old rules run alongside the new rules for a period of 18 months, and for this reason, included in the price of the handbook, a copy of Tolley's ""County Court Practice and Procedure"" (6th ed) which covers the old rules is also provided. In addition, district judge, Alan Simons, has produced a guidance notes handbook comparing the old and new law, with tables of destinations.
