The NEC4 Engineering and Construction Short Contract (ECSC) and associated NEC4 Engineering and Construction Short Subcontract (ECSS) are simpler alternatives to the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) and NEC4 Engineering and Construction Subcontract (ECS).
The ECSC and ECSS are for projects which are relatively easy to manage, comprise straightforward work and impose only low risks on the client, contractor and subcontractors. They use a price list, with payments simply made for completion of priced items, or for quantities provided at the agreed rates, or for a combination of both.
Both the main contract and subcontract can include any level of design. They also contain the same definitions and procedures, providing back-to-back protection for the main contractor and consistency of approach throughout the supply chain.
The bundle contains everything you need to prepare, tender and manage an NEC4 ECSC main contract and its associated NEC4 ECSS subcontracts. Each contract document includes forms for the contract data, price list, scope and site information.
The bundle also includes the four-part set of user guides for the ECSC and ECSS: Establishing a Procurement and Contract Strategy, Preparing an Engineering and Construction Short Contract, Selecting a Supplier and Managing an Engineering and Construction Short Contract.
