Discontinued at the end of December 2022.
After 16 supplements to the previous edition, and the many revisions to the planning statutes brought about by the new Planning Act 2008, it has been decided to reissue this work in its entirety. The immediate effect of the passing of the Planning Act 2008 as far as the book is concerned has been the introduction of three important new chapters and signifi cant changes to the commentary throughout.
In reissuing the main work of the text, the opportunity has also been taken to completely revise the layout and order of the content to place sections in a more logical sequence. This new edition thus reflects the vast amount of change that has taken place in the field of planning law since the last edition of this work in 2001 and provides a fresh style and more convenient format.
The book remains a comprehensive study of the law of planning that explains the methods available to enforce controls and to challenge enforcement. It covers general planning controls, including development, planning permission and enforcement, challenging notices and non-compliance, as well as additional controls relevant to listed buildings, tree preservation and advertisements. The new legislation pertaining to nationally signifi cant infrastructure projects and community infrastructure levies is explained in detail.
The regular issue of supplements will ensure the work is always fully up to date in respect of both statute and case law. The supplementary issue system is particularly relevant to this text as there will be a succession of Regulations and – no doubt – cases resulting from the new Planning Act which will be covered within the regular updates.
