The introduction of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 established the principle of access to all buildings, including churches and church halls, as a civil right. This publication is a guide to meeting the requirements of the Act, and provides detailed information and design guidance to help meet the accessibility needs of people with disabilities.;Part III of the Act (Oct 2004) relates specifically to premises, and this edition incorporates guidance drawn from the first years' experience of the Act and the publication of the new Code of Practice relating to Part III issued by the Disability Rights Commission.
