The book is intended to provide an accessible description and evaluation of the UK public sector ombudsman system, focussing on the Parliamentary, Health Service and Local Government ombudsmen in England.
It deals with the public sector ombudsmen in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, in particular the new arrangements which have occurred as a result of devolution. It also presents a critical analysis of the present ombudsmen schemes and makes comparisons with other systems.
