Cross on Evidence has been an over whelming success ever since its first appearance nine years ago. It is now an established authority appealing equally to students and practitioners.
The clarity of expression which marks all of Professor Cross's work ensures that this intriguing but sometimes confusing branch of the law is presented in a logical and lucid manner and that this is a book of real interest.
In the Third Edition much of the text has been re-written and important new material has been added. The section on confessions has been substantially altered in the light of the House of Lords' speeches in Commissioners of Customs and Excise v. Harz and Power (1966) and the section on judicial discretion enlarged. Material on blood tests, finger prints and tracker dogs has also been in-corporated.
Cross is an essential book for many University courses and is recommend¬ed for many examinatlons, including the 'Bar and Police. It is equally indispensable for anyone connected with the presentation of evidence in a court of law.
