Making use of Justice Cornelius's hitherto private correspondence and of his public addresses, this text examines the legal career of A.R. Cornelius which spanned 38 years, of which 17 years were spent as the Chief Justice of Pakistan. The author makes a case for the compatability of Christian and Muslim values as exemplified in the person and professional career of Cornelius, a Roman Catholic Chief Justice of the most self-consciously Muslim state.
