One of the scarcest editions in the series and only published in the green cloth binding of the Notable Scottish Trials.
The 1879 trial of the Directors who brought about the collapse of the Bank and their own social standing by their fraudulent activities. They were charged with fraud, falsehood and wilfull imposition, theft, breach of trust and embezzlement. Their actions betrayed many small investors and when the Bank's doors closed the loss was said to be over £5-million.
