The object of this book is to give a short, readable account of the English criminal law. The first part is devoted to a detailed account of a trial for murder. An outline of the powers and procedure of the criminal courts is given in the second section.
The last part deals with the offences most commonly occupying the attention of the courts, such as murder, manslaughter, theft, and fraud. This fourth edition of The Criminal Law has been brought completely up to date.
It embodies the considerable Innovations brought about by the spate of recent legislation affecting our criminal law, besides a number of recent judicial decisions, particularly those resulting from the Homicide Act of 1957.
